Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15/8/26

Manthana Foundation (“Manthana”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of everyone who uses our website and online counselling and psychiatry services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using our website (manthanafoundation.com) or booking a session with us, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide our services:

  • Contact details you share with us — your name, phone/WhatsApp number, and email address.
  • Booking information — the specialist you wish to see, your preferred time slot, and a brief description of the concern you would like help with.
  • Payment information — when you pay for a session, your payment is processed through a third-party UPI/payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment was made, but we do not store your UPI ID, card numbers, or banking credentials on our systems.
  • Clinical information — any information you share during a consultation that is relevant to your care. This is treated as confidential health information (see “Confidentiality” below).
  • Technical information — basic, non-identifying data your browser sends when you visit the site (such as device type and pages viewed), used to keep the site working and secure.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • schedule, confirm, and conduct your sessions;
  • communicate with you about appointments, follow-ups, and your care;
  • process payments for sessions;
  • respond to your enquiries; and
  • maintain and improve our website and services.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Confidentiality of your care

Confidentiality is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. Information you share during consultations is kept strictly confidential and is not disclosed to any third party without your consent, except where we are required to do so by law, or where there is a serious and immediate risk to your safety or the safety of others.

How we communicate

Sessions are conducted over WhatsApp (audio or video). Please note that communication over WhatsApp and similar platforms is subject to those platforms’ own security and privacy practices, which are outside our control. We encourage you to review WhatsApp’s privacy policy separately.

Data storage and security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. We retain personal and clinical information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal and professional obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Sharing with service providers

We may share limited information with trusted third parties who help us operate — for example, payment processors and website hosting providers — strictly to the extent needed to perform those services, and under obligations of confidentiality.

Your rights

You may, at any time:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate; or
  • ask us to delete your personal information, subject to any legal or professional record-keeping requirements.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at manthanafoundation@gmail.com.

Children

Where services are provided to a minor, we require the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
